THE SONG Invite your students to discover their “anchor” while they listen to a song. Guide them to connect to their breathing. There is no right or wrong way Just feel the breathing moving different parts of the body: nostrils,

chest, abdomen, etc. They can also count 3- 2- 4 while breathing Now ask them to connect to the sounds around. Sounds can be nice or not, we are just accepting and letting them be. Each sound will have their full attention. Ask them to reflect on what is their “anchor” THE PEACE- PIECE Create a peace corner in your classroom. Use the piece to invite students to speak their minds and hearts. ‒ The piece can be a pebble, a stick, a squishy ball, etc. When someone holds the piece, everybody listens actively to what that person has to say. ‒ The rule of the game is that the holder of the piece can say anything she –he thinks or feels, without being judged. ‒ The piece is a fundamental tool of the peace corner. THE JAR ‒ We can use the Mind Jar to help our students calm down, breathe, and understand how their mind works. 3 Source: http://www.doksinet ‒ The jar is like our mind, when things get complicated everything looks confusing and we cannot think clearly.

‒ So what is the one thing we can do to get the glitter to settle and see clearly again? ‒ Be still! And what happens when we are still? We can see clearly again. There is also no way to rush being still. We can’t push all the glitter down to the bottom. We just have to watch and wait No amount of effort will make it settle sooner. ‒ You can even ask each student to do their own mind jar, and have one handy at your peace corner. THE RAISIN/ CHOCOLATE This exercise aims at reconnecting with our senses as a highway to become aware of the beauty within and around us. ‒ Offer each of your students 2 raisins. ‒ First, they have to “see” the raisin, observe its details, colours, etc ‒ Then, we ask them to close their eyes and “smell” with their full bodies. What sensations came to mind? ‒ At last, we ask them to eat them, as if in slow motion. Remember to close the exercise with a reflection circle, explaining that the raisin is a metaphor for all the
