PMA202 2005 Fleet Maintainers Conference Caribe Royale, Orlando, FL he PMA202 Fleet Support Team Fleet Maintainers Conference (FMC)/In-Service Management Panel (IMP) for 2005 promises to be the largest gathering of aircrew fleet support teams, industry, and fleet maintainers ever. The conference, hosted by Cobham Companies Conax florida corporation, Carleton Life Support Systems, and Carleton Aerosystems, will be held 20-24 June 2005 at the Caribe Royale AllSuites Resort and Conference Center located at 8101 World Center Drive, Orlando, FL 32821. The resort telephone number is (407) 238-8000 and their website is http://cariberesorts.com/ MA202 leadership has listened to the suggestions and feedback from previous Fleet Maintainers Conferences and has incorporated many of the recommendations for this years conference. The upcoming conference will offer FST presented general sessions, equipment specific breakout sessions/hands-on workshops, and exhibit hall sessions where attendees can

learn about new aircrew system products and the vendors who manufacture them. In an effort to better tailor it to the fleet needs, this years conference has been restructured to include all fleet support teams; Aircrew Escape and Crashworthy Systems, Aircrew Oxygen Systems, Life Support Systems, and Night Vision Systems. Each FST will offer in-depth half-day workshops that will allow facilitators to take groups through more detailed topics in a hands-on environment. Workshops under consideration include, but are not limited to: Oxygen Concentrator disassembly and repair, Oxygen Regulator testing using the Portable Oxygen Test Set (PORTS), Survival Gear fitting procedures (Helmets, Harnesses, LPFC, Airsave, etc.), NACES testing with the new Time and Altitude Test Set. Glass United States Navy Naval Aircrew Systems Program Manager Captain Glass was born in Singapore to Southern Baptist Missionaries Rev. Ernest and Marjorie Glass He attended Wake Forest University in Winston- Salem, NC and graduated in 1980 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. After joining the Navy, he reported to Aviation Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, FL and was commissioned first in his class in May 1981 Following flight training, CAPT Glass was designated a Naval Aviator in January 1983 and received orders to VF- 101 at Oceana, VA. Shortly after accumulating over 100 hours in the F- 14A and completing day/night carrier qualifications, CAPT Glass was redesignated a General Aviation Duty Officer and received orders to the USS AMERICA (CV

66). While aboard AMERICA, he was redesignated as an Aerospace Maintenance Duty Officer and transferred in September 1987 to Aviation Maintenance Officer (AMO) School in Pensacola, FL. Following completion of AMO School in December 1987, CAPT Glass reported to his first "Greenshirt" assignment with the V A115 Eagles, flying the A-6E Intruder aboard the USS MIDWAY (CV 41) home ported in Yokosuka, Japan While there, he served as the QAO, AMO, MCO and the MMCO and completed two Indian Ocean Deployments. In October 1990, CAPT Glass transferred to AIMD, NAS Oceana VA where he served as Manpower/Sea Operations Detachment coordinator and Airframes, Paraloft and Avionics Division Officer. In November 1993, he was invited to join the Staff of Commander Naval Air Force, US Atlantic Fleet where he served in the Aviation Maintenance Plans and Policy Branch While assigned to COMNAVAIRLANT, CAPT Glass earned his Master of Science degree in Management from Troy State University. In November

1995, CAPT Glass reported aboard USS THEODORE ROOSEVEL T (CVN 71) as the AIMD MMCO. During his two year tour, TR completed a successful SRA, work-up cycle and Med Deployment, and earned the 1997 AIMD Black "E." In September 1997, he reported to Pre-Commissioning Unit HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN 75) as her first AIMD Officer CAPT Glass reported next to the Navy Personnel Command in June 2000 where he served as the Aerospace Engineering Duty Officer Community Detailer until December 2001. In January 2002, he reported aboard Naval Air Systems Command as the T45TS/ JPATS Assistant Program Manager for Logistics (APML). The following year, all Navy Training Aircraft were consolidated under one PMA and CAPT Glass assumed responsibilities as the Director of Logistics for all Navy trainer aircraft, (760 aircraft in nine different type/model/series). CAPT Glass is currently assigned as PMA202 responsible for the Research, Design, Production, and Support of all Naval/Marine Corp Aviation Life

Support Systems. CAPT Glass awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), the Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), the Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit awards and campaign ribbons. He served four years in the training command while assigned to VT-26 and VT-25

at NAS Chase Field in Beeville, Texas, and accumulated over 1000 flight hours piloting the A-4, TA-4J, T-2C and other training aircraft. Mr. Young left active duty in 1989 and joined the Naval Air Systems Command in Arlington, Virginia After serving in the flight clearance office he was assigned to the Crew Systems Department as a project engineer on the Navy Aircrew Common Ejection Seat (NACES) and associated efforts. In 1993 he moved to the F-14 Program Office, working on the Structural and Avionics Block Upgrade program He also served at the Medium Range Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (MRUAV) class desk. He returned to Crew Systems in 1994 as a senior project engineer for Crashworthy programs and Cockpit Systems In 1995 he was detailed to the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization, reporting to the director of the systems engineering office for National Missile Defense. Mr. Young returned to NAVAIR in 1996 as the Head of the In-Flight Escape Systems Branch In this role he helped ensure the

success of programs such as the accommodation improvements to the NACES, modifications to the T-2C escape system, certification of the T-6 escape system, and the formation of requirements for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. In 1999 he was selected as the Deputy Head of the Crew Systems Department, and soon thereafter was designated as the Director. He served as the Director of Crew Systems until April 2001, at which time he was selected for the Senior Executive Service and became the Director of the Systems Engineering Department In July 2003 Mr. Young transferred to NAVAIR Orlando Training Systems Division as the Technical Director , as well as Director of the NAVAIR Human Systems Engineering Department Mr. Young completed a Masters of Business Administration from Marymount University in 1994 He is a graduate of the Defense Systems Management College, the Senior Executive Management Development Program, and the Federal Executive Institute. Pierre C. Garant, a second generation Marine, was born in Fall River, Massachusetts in 1960 Spending his youth in the Boston area and on Long Island New York; he graduated from Cornell University in May 1982 and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps (USMC). After attending The Basic School and the Navy Supply Corps School, his first tour was at Marine Aircraft Group 26 (MAG-26) in New River, North Carolina. During this tour, he completed two Mediterranean deployments with Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 261 (HMM-261) and participated in the 22nd Marine Amphibious Unit (22 MAU) invasion of Grenada (Operation URGENT FURY) and as a member of the multinational Peacekeeping Forces in Beirut, Lebanon. In July 1986, Lieutenant Garant was transferred to the 6th Marine Expeditionary Brigade (6th MEB) at Camp Lejeune, NC where he worked on the Maritime Prepositioning Ships Program. In 1988, Captain Garant was transferred to Headquarters, U. S Marine Corps in

Washington DC where he worked in the Aviation Logistics Support Branch, Department of Marine Aviation. Subsequently, he was assigned to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 14 (MALS-14), and then to Director of Logistics at Marine Corps Air Bases, Eastern Area (MCABE) at Cherry Point, NC. From 1996 until 1999, Lieutenant Colonel (LtCol) Garant served as the Executive Officer of MALS-12 in Iwakuni, Japan. Returning to Cherry Point in 1999, he served as the Commanding Officer of the Dragons of MALS-14 from May 2000 until March of 2002. Col Garant is currently serving as Head of the Aviation Logistics Support Branch at Headquarters, U.S Marine Corps (Department of Marine Aviation) Military schools that Garant has attended include Amphibious Warfare School and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces (ICAF). He holds two Masters of Science Degrees: Systems Management from the University of Southern California and National Resource Strategy from ICAF Col Garant has also earned the
