Why did Gatsby fire all the servants?(Brandon &Company) He fired all his servants because he didn’t

want the servants spreading rumors about how he and Daisy got together almost every afternoon. He also stopped throwing parties because he finally “got” Daisy. He goes from seeking publicity to craving privacy 2. What does the scene with Pammy suggest about Daisy as a mother? What effect does it have on Gatsby? (Gary & Company) When Pammy greets her mother Daisy, Daisy fusses over for a bit and then disregards her and instead lets the nurse attend to her. This shows that she is a careless mother Gatsby realizes that their relationship can never be as perfect as he believed to be. Pamela is living proof that Daisy has had another life since 1917. Until he saw Pamela, he never really believed that she existed. 3. When does Tom realize that there is a definite relationship between Daisy and Gatsby? When Tom exposes the nature of his business, he thinks Daisy will see him as a thug and nobody. 7. What happened to Myrtle Wilson? What might her wounds symbolize? (Amanda & Company) Myrtle Wilson was hit by Gatsby’s car that Daisy was driving and died, Her wounds symbolize how she was chasing after wealth that ultimately lead to her death. She died from her social class climb attempt. This signifies how one cannot attempt to go from a low class to a higher class. 8. In what ways is Tom Buchanan a hypocrite? Explain Tom is having an affair and his reaction to Daisy’s affair is part of the double

standard. Also, he is more upset that she is having an affair with someone who he regards as a social inferior. 9. Who was driving the “death car”? How do we know? (Emily) Daisy was driving the “death car.” We know this because she was driving to release tension, and Gatsby was in the passenger’s seat. Daisy hit Myrtle with the car and killed her 10.
